Leadership Development

The Leadership Development portfolio coordinates initiatives and provides resources for all UTAT members on leadership and professional development. The portfolio plays a key role in the team’s mission to provide opportunities and help the development of future aerospace leaders and innovators by offering students workshops, resources, and professional development opportunities, and advising on leadership matters across divisions. In addition, the leadership development portfolio looks to improve leadership practices across the team by performing research and tracking the effectiveness of the team’s leadership development practices. The portfolio is a unique element of UTAT, which aims to grow society's knowledge, appreciation, and application of modern leadership.

Project Areas

  • Providing leadership development resources, training, and workshops to UTAT members

  • Streamlining the recruitment and onboarding process for UTAT

  • Holding check-ins with UTAT leaders to discuss leadership practices and offer insight on how they might be improved

  • Collaborate with external organizations, such as the Troost Institute for Leadership Education in Engineering, to evaluate and enhance UTAT leadership practices

  • Audit various workflows used by UTAT and seek improvements
